The Waldheim Alpine Spa sits inside Cradle Mountain Lodge on the edge of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, beside the Pencil Pine River and surrounded by ancient forest. You don’t need to be a lodge guest to book, day visitors are taken. That said, advance bookings are strongly recommended. Cradle Mountain Road is a long drive from anywhere, and arriving without a confirmed booking risks a wasted trip. The Sanctuary in particular, being private, is likely to fill on busier days. Book before you make the drive.
